Firm silent on ransom

THREE construction staff of Okmas Nigeria Limited, abducted by a seven-man kidnap gang along Patani-Oduophori Road in Delta State, have regained their freedom after spending 25 days in captivity.

The staff, identified as Sari Naser Karin, 28, from Syria; Tarek Maroun, 38, Lebanese and Sahara, from Edo State, were released by their abductors around 2a.m. on Saturday.

Confirming the release, Public Relations Manager of the company, Owhondah Ebere, who refused to say whether or not ransom was paid to secure their release, stated that the three staff were in good shape.

Contacted, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Celestina Kalu, said: “We were informed by the company that their staff kidnapped since May 19 have been released.

“I would inform you when I receive further information on how they were released, but we are still investigating and will unravel those criminals behind the kidnap.”
