BREAKING: Court Orders NDLEA to Vacate Buruji's Residence Siege

Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Lagos federal high court has reportedly ordered the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency to immediately vacate Buruji Kashamu’s residence.

This order was issued on tuesday, May 26, which reads in part; “the status quo must be maintained”, The Nation reports.
The drama started on Saturday, May 23, when the NDLEA besieged the Kashamu’s residence. Since then the senator-elect, wanted by the US authorities on suspicion of drug trafficking, had been under house arrest over his extradition case.

Kahsamu’s lawyer characterized the Agency move as totally illegal, and filed a motion asking the court to order NDLEA staff removal from the residence of Mr.Buruji on Monday, May 25. He insisted that the body had not obtained the warrant of arrest as required by the law. Meanwhile, the senator-elect has refused to appear in court on Monday for the extradition proceedings.
