IMMEDIATE past member of the House of Representatives and chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State, Mr Rasaq Bello-Osagie, has admonished aspiring governorship candidates of the party in the state to market their antecedents and pedigree to delegates of the party rather than dissipate energy and resources in heating up the polity.

Speaking in Benin, he noted that “engaging in frivolities, fruitless campaign of calumny through orchestrated write- ups, unbridled character assassination and engaging on a voyage of forensic discovery like the historical events of Mongo Park will not help them or the party in the forthcoming governorship election.

“What I consider desirable at this time is for aspirants to exhibit their skills and potentials, unveil their programmes and capacity to creatively manage the meagre resources of the state and harness the inherent window of untapped opportunities which include but not limited to a coordinated expansion of our tax net and a more efficient tax administration without necessarily putting unrealistic burden on the people.”
