Ekweremadu leads Lawan, others to Adawawa on Thursday

The Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, will lead some senators to Adamawa State on Wednesday for an on-the-spot assessment of the Boko Haram menace currently ravaging some areas in the North-East states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa.

One of the key members of the Ekweremadu delegation to Adamawa State, as announced by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, during plenary on Tuesday, is Senator Ahmad Lawan (APC, Yobe North), who is the arrow head of some APC senators battling against Saraki’s senate presidency.

Others on the delegation are the Deputy Senate Leader, Bala Ibn Na’Allah (APC, Kebbi South), Bashir Marafa (PDP, Taraba Central), Murtala Nyako (APC, Adawawa South), Binta Masi (APC, Adamawa North) and George Sekibo (PDP, Rivers East).

The Senate, in a resolution last week Thursday, mandated the leadership of the Senate to visit the North-East zone to assess the condition of the military operatives fighting insurgency in the areas and the plights of the displaced residents in the various camps.
