A security guard, Dambo Charles, on Tuesday appeared at the Tinubu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stripping himself naked and threatening to kill another tenant in his place of work.
Charles, 65, a Nigerien and resident of House 11, Plot 4, Ikota Villa Estate, Ajah in Lagos State, is standing trial on three counts of disorderly conduct, threatening violence and possessing criminal charms.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Aondohemba Koti, told the court that tye accused committed the offences at 1.20p.m, on May 30, at his residence.
He said the accused conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace in the compound where he lived and also doubled as its guard.
Koti told the court that the accused stripped himself naked and threatened to kill one Mrs Enitan Oloto, a tenant living in the premises.
“Trouble started when Oloto returned to the premises in her car from church and met Charles urinating in front of the gate with his private part exposed.
“She confronted him over his indecent action and advised him that he should use the toilet in the gatehouse next time.
“Instead of taking the advice, Charles yelled at Oloto telling her she had no right to order him around and that she was not his employer. “The accused stripped himself naked and held on to his manhood as a further ploy to threaten Oloto.
“Charles failed to take cognizance of the fact that Oloto’s nanny and baby were in the car and that other women and children in the premises were witnessing his action.
“The accused also ran naked into his room in the gatehouse and came out with some native charms tied to his waist and began to chant incantations.” Koti said.
