Four more aspirants for the governorship seat of Kogi State Wednesday picked their respective Nomination and Expression Forms to contest the ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC’s primaries.
They included Yaqeen Abdullahi Habeeb, Tim Da Dichie, Suleiman Lanre Ipinmisho and Haliru Sani Shuaibu. With these, the number of aspirants to has hit 18.
Addressing Journalists after obtaining his forms, Habeeb stated that bad governance was responsible for the high rate of unemployment, robbery and kidnapping that has pervaded Kogi State.
He said: “I believe and so strongly that Kogi State is endowed with highly competent and capable people. What is required is sincere leadership with a vision and a purpose to harness these resources so as to realize a just Kogi State that is secure, stable and prosperous with the highest possible standards, which everyone can be proud of.”
Also speaking, Tim Da Dichie said if elected governor, he would pursue three cardinal objectives which included improvements on the infrastructure in the state, wealth creation and security of the people of the state.
For Suleiman Lanre Ipinmisho who was a former Director General of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kogi State must be rescued.
He said “a state being run like Kogi is the black sheep of the nation and we must not allow it to continue.”
Similarly, Shuaibu, said that he would upon ensure that “Social security, human development, Creation of jobs, and Agricultural development”, were realized.
Meanwhile, the 18 aspirants were Prince Abubakar Audu, Yahaya Bello, Sen. Nicholas Yahaya, Sani Halilu Shuaibu, Suleman Baba Ali, Air Vice Marshall Saliu Atawodi, Muhammad Abdullahi, Sen. Nuruddeen Abatemi Usman, Haj. Hadiza Ibrahim, Yakubu Muhammad, Clarence Olafemi, Suleman Ejeh Abutu, Sunday Ejibo, Suleman Lanre Ipinmisho, Dr. Tim Nda Diche, Habeeb Abdullahi Yakeen, Rotimi Yakub Obadofin, Babatunde Irukera.
