The Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi umar Ganguje, said on Monday that plans are underway to rationalize ministries, departments and agencies in the state to save cost for effective performance.
Ganduje said the reorganization become necessary following the dwindling federal allocation to the state.
The governor gave the indication at the swearing ceremony of the newly appointed Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Rab’u Sulieman Bichi and the state’s Head of Service, Mohammed Auwal Na’iya at the Government House, Kano.
He said it is necessary to embark on the re-organization in order to save cost and serve the people well.
“The re-organization is to increase efficiency, reduction of wastages and optimum utilization of our resources, our meager resources must be utilized in a very prudent manner.
“We must get people of high sense of responsibility, high sense of duty and people who will assist us to face the challenges we are facing today. I call on all civil servants in the state to bear with us and cooperate with us, “Ganduje stated.
