Edo State governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole says the huge investment in the world class Central Hospital under construction was to ensure that the poor in and outside the state have access to quality healthcare.

The Governor made this known while inspecting the Accident, Emergency and 200 capacity wards in Benin City.

Comrade Oshiomhole observed that those who could not afford to travel abroad for treatment can easily access the hospital services and get both psychological and physical healing because of the modern medical facilities in the hospital.

The Governor accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Iara Oshiomhole also inspected on-going road construction projects at Second East Circular and Upper Siloko Roads.

Meanwhile, the wife of the Governor has visited some orphanage homes in Benin City and presented them with gift items.

Some of the orphanages visited include Mary Immaculate Children Home, Salvation Army Benin Rehabilitation Centre and Tender Hearts Orphanage.

Earlier, some Pastors from Enikorogha Community in Ovia South West Local Government Area appealed for the posting of more teachers to their school built by the Edo State government.

The group made the appeal when they pay a visit to the Governor in the Government House, Benin City.

Commending the Governor for his development strides in their community and the entire state, the group urged the Governor to carry on with his effort in sustaining the new Edo State under him and pay less attention to detractors.

They observed that the need for continuity in development across the state would necessitate the right person taking over as governor of the state and appeal to the Governor to leave Edo State in the hands of a tested and trusted leader like him.

While thanking the group for the visit, Comrade Oshiomhole promised to investigate the reason for shortage of teachers in the community school, and assured them that issue would be adequately resolved.
