Benin City – Fifty eight newly promoted police officers, rank and file recently promoted to their new ranks have been decorated by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 5, Musa Daura.
The ceremony that held at the Zone 5 Headquarters in Benin City saw the attendance of friends and family members of the newly promoted.
Among those promoted include sixteen Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, three promoted to Senior Inspectors, six sergeants promoted to inspectors while thirty three Corporals were promoted to the rank of sergeants.
According to AIG Daura, the promotion comes with enormous responsibility and urged the officers to reciprocate the gesture through dedication to work and discipline in their various departments.
‘’The promotion came at the right time that the country is facing some security challenges, therefore you all most redouble yours efforts and dedicate yourselves for the task ahead’’.
He thanked the Inspector General of Police, IGP Solomon Arase and his management team for finding it worthy to consider officers and men of the Zone in his recent promotion exercise.
‘’You will recall that a total number of three thousand six hundred and thirty seven inspectors were promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police, six thousand three hundred and nine Sergeants were promoted to inspectors while thirteen thousand seven hundred and twenty four corporals were promoted to sergeants throughout the federation’’.
Out of this number, a total of 55 policemen and women from the Zonal Headquarters Benin City benefitted in the exercise.” AIG Musa Daura stated.
Speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, Emmanuel Enahoro assured the police management and the public of their dedication to duty by ensuring the security of lives and property.
