Oshiomhole appoints Gowon Special Adviser on Legislative Matters

Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has approved the appointment of Hon. Gowon Yakubu as Special Adviser on Legislative Matters.

Hon. Gowon was born in Iyakpi South Ibie Kingdom in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State to the family of Alhaji and Alhaja Medina Marughu Yakubu.

He was elected member Edo State House of Assembly in 2015 to represent Etsako West Constituency II but the court of Appeal sitting in Benin City annulled his mandate for Mr. Sylvanus Eruaga of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Gowon is an Associate member, Nigeria Institute of Management, Fellow, African Institute of Entrepreneur and member, governing council International Christian University.

He is the President, African Institute of Enterprise Development and Management and member, Adonogie in Council, South Ibie Kingdom.

Gowon, who had his primary and secondary school education in South Ibie in Etsako West Local Government Area, is a graduate of Estate Survey from Federal Polytechnic, Auchi and Lagos State University, Nigeria.

After graduation, Gowon had a stint with some renowned Nigerian estate giants like Jide Taiwo & Co., Fola Oyekan & Associates and John Akhamie & Co. before he founded his company, Lexicon Properties Limited which is one of the fastest growing estate and property management companies in Nigeria.

As an entrepreneur and international business manager, Gowon diversified into the Nigerian oil and gas industry with the establishment of GOSPETCO Oil and Gas Limited.
