Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole has been described as a man who is hungry for development, worthy of emulation and deserves encouragement.
The Governor who received these commendations yesterday from the Managing Director of Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc, Dr. Graham Hefer, the Chairman of Ovia North East Local Government Area, Mrs. Lucy Omagbon and the Enogie of Odighi community, HRH Prince Osaretin Akenzua was represented by his Wife, Mrs. Iara Oshiomhole during the commissioning ceremony of Odighi health centre.
In her speech, Mrs. Lucy Omagbon said, “when I assumed office, I met an empty treasury but I decided to emulate the Comrade Governor and today, we have testimonies everywhere.
“I never wanted to let down the man who ensured I won at the polls; that was why I made sure I succeed. So, whenever I am asked to draw the image of God and I finish crafting it, the nearest picture that would suffice since I have not seen God before, is Comrade Adams Oshiomhole. Man is God to man, Governor Oshiomhole is God personified to me, Lucy Omagbon.
“Governor Oshiomhole is hungry for development and so, we have to join him to bring the needed development to Edo state. History will justify us because since the coming of Governor Adams Oshiomhole, we have been highly lifted. The Comrade Governor sent me an errand, I came, saw, conquered and delivered”, she said.
For the MD of Okomu Oil, Dr. Graham Hefer, “since our company’s arrival in this local government area in 2014, thankfully brought about by His Excellency, the Comrade Governor, who graciously signed over the Certificate of Occupancy and deed of agreement to Okomu on the de-reserved area formerly leased out to A and Hatman, we have been warmly welcomed by the people”.
In a similar vein, HRH Prince Osaretin Akenzua said, “our joy knows no bound as we welcome two of the illustrious children of Edo state to our community. This community never had it so good, to in one single day play host to the Comrade Governor who has done so much for us”, he said.
While commissioning the project, Mrs. Iara Oshiomhole thanked Okomu Oil Company, the community and the Council chairman for peaceful co-existence and for acknowledging the efforts of the Comrade Governor.
Mrs. Iara Oshiomhole said, “I want to thank Okomu oil and Mrs. Lucy Omagbon for the wonderful work they are doing. I appreciate your hardwork and dedication”, she said.
