Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria, RATTAWU has appealed to Edo State Government to consider approving the pending hazard allowance to motivate its members under the state employment.

This is contained in a press statement signed by the State Chairman of the Union, Comrade Isaac Idaho and made available to www.johnmayaki.com in Benin City as part of activities to mark this year’s World Radio Day.

It further stated that in recognition of Radio as the most powerful tool of mass communication, the need to encourage radio workers in this critical function of informing people in remote communities and the less privilege had become more imperative.

The Union therefore charged broadcast organisations in the state to ensure the successful observance of the World Radio Day by devoting airtime for public awareness on the occasion.
