Benin City – Edo state Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has again stressed the need for residents to protect and maintain government projects in their area
Governor Oshiomhole made the appeal while addressing leaders of Ewa Road community, Benin City, during an unscheduled inspection visit to the Storm Water Project in the area.
The Governor observed that the storm water project is expensive but important for erosion control and durability of other projects.
“We needed to do this unit to de-flood the city, so that in the next raining season people in this area don’t have to be afraid. The only favour I will demand of you as community leaders is to police the area and ensure that people don’t dump waste in the water drains”
Governor Oshiomhole stressed that his administration will leave lasting legacies for Edo people through the execution of projects that will have lasting effect on their social-economic life.
Meanwhile residents including Mr Alfred Ogbeifun, Mrs Mabel Bello and Comrade Bello Ogbemudia who throng out in large numbers were full of prayers and praises for the Governor.
They observed that they had lost much property in the past to erosion and promised the comrade governor not just their resolve to protect the projects, but to always have confidence in his visionary leadership.
