Abe To APC Leaders: Don’t Jettison Zoning
The senator representing Rivers South-East district in the National Assembly, Senator Magnus Ngei Abe has appealed to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) not to jettison zoning in the sharing of political offices.
Abe, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt yesterday, urged the APC to remember that what destroyed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was not zoning but non-adherence to the zoning principle as enshrined in the PDP constitution. He said, in a fragile democracy, fundamental issue like zoning cannot be ignored, of political offices among component parts of a federal structure where every section expects a voice.
